Change of Place – Short Film.

This short film was completed in my first term of university. I wanted to capture something showing the change of places between home and university. The first location displayed in this short film was Plymouth, Devon and the second location used was Basingstoke, Hampshire.

As I just moved to the university in Plymouth, I thought creating a film for this location would be an advantage for me. I chose Basingstoke as a location because it’s where I lived before coming to university, this location is very different from Plymouth. Basingstoke is a small town and Plymouth is a big city and I thought these large differences would be beneficial to me.

During this film production, I created some pre-production (which you will find in the pre-production tab above). During this module I created some artist research, here are examples;

• ‘Skins’ Series 3, Episode 8 produced by Bryan Elsley & Jamie Brittain
• ‘The Girl Done Good Documentary – Amy Winehouse’
• ‘Nicki Minaj Documentary’

From this research, I realised I wanted to create a documentary. I feel the final product was good. However, I could have given it some more time nearer the end as I felt I finished my short film in a hurry and it made it less professional.
