‘Every Picture Tells a Story’

In one of the first modules I had after joining university, we had to develop our photographic skills in a module called ‘Photographic Narratives’. Throughout this module, we had two short projects and a final task I decided to create my project on urban landscapes. As I’d not had much experience within photography at this time, these tasks were harder for me to create. As I set myself a theme, I wanted to try and keep to it but reflecting back now I did drift off topic towards the end of the final project and this is shown in my workbook. Looking back at this module after a year later, the images I took were good for the amount of experience I had at that time. Having learnt a lot more camera and editing skills now, my themes and images are a lot more developed. I used many locations in Plymouth for this project and I think they were very effective for the theme I choose. If I had to change anything throughout this module, I would develop my theme more and allow the idea of a ‘myth’ to be added. As the theme of urban landscapes was quite simple, I would change this and make it more developed to show more skill.
